Artificial intelligence (AI) has been the subject of discussion and fascination for many years, but its potential impact on businesses has been a particularly hot topic recently. AI and specifically ChatGPT as the ultimate business tool has been becoming a more frequent topic of conversation when talking to my business owner friends. This prompted me to take a poll on my Instagram, where I asked various questions about ChatGPT. Out of everyone that responded, 45% of people did not know what ChatGPT was but said they were interested in learning how to use it as a tool for their business.
ChatGPT, a language model developed by OpenAI, is one of the latest AI tools that has been making waves in the business world. This computer program can understand and respond to questions and comments like a human would. However, as with any new technology, there are concerns and uncertainties around its use. Of course, everyone and their mother, brother, and aunt have an opinion about it. And I totally get it. If you are anything like me, just the mention of computer intelligence has your brain screaming SKYNET, brought on by the childhood trauma of your dad introducing you to Terminator when you were definitely way too young.
ChatGPT is Not Here to Replace Humans
While the idea of using AI to automate certain tasks can be daunting, it’s important to understand that AI is not here to replace human intelligence. Instead, it’s meant to augment it. AI can help businesses perform tasks more efficiently, freeing up human workers to focus on higher-level tasks that require creativity, innovation, and critical thinking.
My Thoughts on ChatGPT as a Business Tool
Skynet or not, I’ve been using it for a few months. I have found it extremely useful for helping with mundane business tasks and making my processes more efficient. It’s been great for my repetitive SEO strategy and SEO audit tasks. Dare I say I’ve also found using it to be very entertaining, allowing me to accomplish certain tasks that I would have otherwise procrastinated on until my business manager threatened to quit again.
For example, ChatGPT can assist with SEO audits, generating reports, or even setting up appointments. This can save business owners like me time and allow them to focus on more important aspects of their business.
This all got me thinking; if I was finding using ChatGPT so helpful as a business owner, after only using it for a few months, what fellow business owners could I convince to try it. And more importantly, could I help them find as much joy as I have in checking off the agonizing tasks they have to complete on their never-ending to-do list?
Riding the ChatGPT Wave into Blogger Glory
As a business owner who has been using ChatGPT for a few months now, I can attest to its usefulness. I’ve found it to be an efficient tool for certain tasks and have even found it to be entertaining. However, I understand that not everyone may have the same experience.
My recent blog posts have been non-existent, mostly because I’ve been busy being an SEO genius and helping clients get 900% more impressions and 600% more clicks on their sites. Let me know if you want to join in the fun.
In my upcoming blog series, I will be exploring all the uses of ChatGPT as a business tool and showing you how it can make your life easier. I will also be discussing some of the concerns and limitations of using AI in business. Ultimately, it’s up to each individual to decide whether or not ChatGPT is the right tool for their business or if it’s Skynet incarnate.
Lets Start the ChatGPT Discussion
I will start with an introduction to AI and the cliff notes version of what you need to know. I understand that some might like it and some might not, but either way, I want this to be a discussion, so please feel free to email me with any thoughts or opinions, just nothing about my grammar, please. I mean it. For real for real. If you really want to follow along make sure you subscribe to my email list to get notified when a new post goes live.
One thing is clear, AI is here to stay and will continue to transform the way we work and live. As business owners, it’s important to stay informed about the latest technologies and find ways to leverage them to our advantage. Whether it’s ChatGPT or another AI tool, there’s no denying that AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we work. It’s up to us to decide how we want to use it.
